Life is inherently stressful, and sometimes this stress can overwhelm our coping abilities. We may start to experience psychological symptoms that start to interfere with our daily lives. If this happens, psychotherapy may be beneficial for you.
Psychotherapy is a form of talk therapy that aims to help people improve and maintain their mental health and wellbeing. This can be accomplished through such means as exploring and changing unhelpful ways of thinking and behaving, processing traumatic memories, facing our fears, working through grief, and improving communication and relationships.
Getting started can be an intimidating process, and I am here to help. If you are interested in exploring whether psychotherapy would be a good fit for you, please feel free to contact me and we can set up a free consultation call to go over your questions and concerns.Ā
If you have been diagnosed with a mental health condition, psychotherapy can be an effective treatment method to manage symptoms, identify barriers to recovery, and improve functioning and quality of life.Ā
Psychotherapy can help you to develop new skills and insights that serve to improve your ability to handle life stressors and changes, and to build and maintain the life that you want for yourself.
Through a focus on improved communication and exploring what you want and need out of relationships, psychotherapy can help you to strengthen your relationships.
Traumatic experiences affect us in profound and lasting ways. Navigating trauma in the presence of a trained professional can help you resolve traumatic memories, manage trauma symptoms more effectively, and improve your quality of life.
Grief is a natural response to loss, and sometimes the impact of this loss can have long-lasting effects on our overall wellbeing and functioning. Grief-focused psychotherapy helps you to find new meaning after loss, and to process, cope, and adapt to loss.
I offer individual psychotherapy to adults that is personalized to suit your needs and concerns. My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and primarily grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I will integrate other therapy modalities based on your individual needs, clinical considerations, and evidence-based practice recommendations.
As part of my clinical work at the practice of Grandi & Associates, I partner with colleagues to host group therapy sessions for both insomnia and grief. If interested, please contact me directly for more information about these groups.
When you are ready, please call me at 519-419-1792, extension 303. If I'm unable to answer, please leave a voicemail with your name, phone number, and an appropriate time to call back. Or, if you would prefer to send me an email, please go to the contact page of this website to fill out a confidential form that will be securely emailed to me.
I will email digital intake forms to you to read and complete prior to our first session. I encourage you to read through the forms to see if you have any questions or concerns that we can address before starting therapy. If you run into any difficulties accessing or completing the form, please contact me by phone or email and we can troubleshoot.
After completing the intake forms, we will schedule your first session based on both of our availabilities. My typical working hours are Monday to Friday from 10AM to 5PM. If you would like to meet outside of these days and times, please contact me by phone or email and we can figure out some alternative arrangements that work for you.
